GOP Rep. McMorris Rodgers Will Not Seek Reelection

House Energy and Commerce Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers, R-Wash., will not seek reelection this year, according to a statement provided to The Spokesman-Review.

First elected to the House in 2004, the 54-year-old took over at the House Energy and Commerce Committee almost a year ago with her focus aimed at reining in tech companies. In 2021 she introduced the Big Tech Accountability Platform and told the Silicon Valley giants, “Your platforms are my biggest fear as a parent.”
