Brief Description of Activity
Participate in program sponsored by or on behalf of an educational institution relating to career opportunities in broadcasting On May 4, 2021, our SEU Operations Manager and On-Air Talent participated in the University of Oregon’s Arts and Media Connect “zoom” sessions designed for students interested in careers in communications, entertainment, the arts and associated fields.  He shared information about the education and skill sets necessary for success in the radio business, emphasizing the ever-increasing role technology plays in the industry.
Management-level training regarding methods of ensuring equal employment opportunity and prevention of discrimination On July 12, 2021, our Market Manager participated in a presentation conducted by Merging Path Coaching entitled, Race and Allyship in the Workplace.  This session focused on building partnerships and navigating racial diversity in the workplace.
Management-level training regarding methods of ensuring equal employment opportunity and prevention of discrimination On August 11, 2021, our Market Manager participated in a presentation conducted by Merging Path Coaching entitled, Managing Unconscious Bias.  This session focused on managing teams without a bias.
Scholarship Program All six of our Stations aired announcements to promote the Eugene Area Radio Stations (EARS) Scholarship Program.  Our SEU’s Business Manager, a member of the EARS Board, assisted with the review of scholarship applications as well as the selection of the scholarship recipients.  EARS ultimately awarded two $3000 scholarships: one to a high school graduate who chose to attend the University of Oregon; and, the second to a college undergraduate who also chose to attend the University of Oregon.  EARS also awarded a $1000 scholarship to a high school graduate who will be a freshman at the University of Oregon.
