White House deputy press secretary Harrison Fields told Newsmax on Monday that the administration is on the lookout for what he described as potentially “sinister” employees.
Fields told “National Report” that there may be holdovers in the administration who don’t support President Donald Trump’s policies. “We are doing an analysis of everyone that works here. And if there is any sinister individual here, they’re going to be shown to the door immediately.”
Fields said there is confidence in all “agency heads and department heads to make sure that the staff working to serve this president are doing so willingly and are not intended to take away from what this administration is trying to do.”
Tulsi Gabbard, the director of national intelligence, announced on Friday that she was taking the wraps off previously classified material supporting her contention that the administration of former President Barack Obama laid the groundwork for a “yearslong” Russia-connected “coup” against Trump.
Fields said the revelation proves what Trump has said for years. “She is unearthing what appears to be a massive scandal in our intelligence community,” he said, adding that it includes the involvement of media outlets.
“Trump was right about everything,” said Fields. “We have a massive scandal on our hands.”
Despite the troubling conspiracy accusations, Fields said this presidency is coming through on Trump’s campaign promises. “What did we do on day one? We took accounting on our border. Our border is secure.”
Trump’s economic strategy, said Fields, is showing strong results. “We started doing incredible things with our economy. Look at the jobs numbers. Every single month, you are seeing native-born American job numbers up, private sector job numbers up, foreign-born workers down, public sector workers down.”
