Armed Robber Gets Away Without Cash7/21 A man robbed a Springfield convenience store but didn't get any moneyJULY 21, 2010 -- An armed man held up a Springfield convenience store Tuesday night. Police say the man entered the AMPM at 42nd and Main Street and bought a bottle of beer.
As the clerk was making change for the beer, the man flashed a small handgun and demanded the money from the register. The clerk immediately closed the register and ran out of the store.
The suspect escaped without any money. He was seen fleeing the scene on 42nd Street. If you have any information, contact Springfield Police.
