Springfield Man Falls to Death in Fall Creek

7/19 A Springfield man camping along Fall Creek fell from rocky ledge to his death
JULY 19, 2010 -- A 45-year old Springfield man camping near Fall Creek died Thursday night after falling 50-feet off a rocky ledge and into the water.

The Lane County Sheriff’s office says Adam Hoffman had been camping in the area with some friends. His body was found Friday morning. Investigators say it appears to have been an accident.

It’s the second similar case in Lane County in the last week. A Nevada woman hiking along the McKenzie River fell down a steep embankment a week ago. Search and rescue crews found her body downstream a day after she fell.
