Police Offer Bike Theft Prevention Tips

7/12 Eugene Police offer bike registration and theft prevention tips
JULY 12, 2010 -- With summer weather, more and more people are taking their bicycles out of the garage and peddling around town. But for some, it may be the last time they see their bicycle –

Steven Chambers is the Crime Prevention Specialist with the Eugene P-D.

Chambers says most bicycle thefts are preventable simply by locking your bike.

And if someone would like to register their bicycle.

In 2009, there were six-hundred forty-five bicycles stolen in the City of Eugene.

To report your bicycle stolen to the Eugene Police Department, call 541-682-5111.
