7/12 A Junction City man is in a Corvallis hospital after a head-on crash near Brownsville
JULY 12, 2010 -- A Junction City man was critically injured in a head-on crash east of Brownsville early Sunday night.

Oregon State Police say the SUV driven by Trevar Austin Pratt, 24, crossed the centerline into oncoming traffic on Highway 228 and collided with a pickup towing a boat driven by 43-year old Mark W. Meacham of Brownsville.

Pratt was extricated from his vehicle by Brownsville Fire Department personnel and taken by air ambulance to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis. Safety restraint use is pending confirmation.

Meacham and the four occupants of the pickup had possible injuries but were not transported to a hospital. They were all using safety restraints.

The collision closed down Highway 228 for about two hours.
