Eugene iPhone App Makes Parking Easier

7/8 The City of Eugene's parking department has developed an iPhone app
JULY 8, 2010 -- The City of Eugene wants to make parking downtown easier for everyone. And they’re going hi-tech to do it. They’ve created an iPhone parking app.

Parking manager Jeff Petry.

Petry says it will be a while before the app can show real-time parking information, such as times remaining on specific meters. But he says he hopes the information the app does offer will be valuable to those who frequent downtown and the campus area.

Right now the app is just for iPhone, but if there’s significant demand for the service, the city will consider developing the app for other phone platforms, such as Droid phones.

iPhone users can find the app at the iPhone's App Store. Read more about the city's new app at their website.
