JULY 7, 2010 -- Lane County Ice rink will live to see another year. That is, if it’s primary users can come up with enough cash to repair it.

Lane County Commissioners have agreed to keep the ice rink open under a public-private partnership that requires the Eugene Generals hockey team to post $40-thousand dollars by this Friday for short term repairs.

President of the Eugene Generals Hockey team, Ken Evans.

If the Generals can raise the 40-grand by Friday, they move to their next funding hurdle: $2.4-million dollars by March for major repairs.

Other users of the ice rink will contribute to that amount, including figure skating groups, youth hockey clubs, and general admission skaters.
