Eugene Woman Injured in Roseburg Car Chase
February 15, 2010 -- A Eugene woman was critically injured in a crash that took the life of a Roseburg man Sunday night.

An Oregon State Police trooper in Roseburg tried to stop a Honda Civic driven by 31-year old Nathan W. Lubken for a traffic violation. Police say Lubken tried to elude the officer for about one mile when he lost control at a high rate of speed and crashed head-on into a Roseburg police officer's patrol car. Lubken was transported to Mercy Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased. The officer received minor injuries and is reported in good condition.

An investigation determined that the Honda had been reported stolen to Lane County Sheriff's Office. A passenger in the Honda – 27-year old Holly Cherie Sullivan from Eugene - was transferred to Legacy Emanuel Hospital in Portland in critical condition.
