Oregon Voters Pass Tax Increases
January 27, 2010 -- Oregon voters have approved two measure that would increase taxes for wealthy individuals and large businesses.

With 80-percent of the votes counted in Lane County, 65-percent of the voters approved Measure 66, with 64-percent also voting 'yes' to Measure 67. Measure 66 raises taxes on individuals who earn more than 125-thousand dollars a year. Measure 67 increases on certain businesses and corporations.

Both taxes are expected to bring in around 727-million dollars in revenue, which would make up around five-point-five-percent of the next two-year budget.
