Kelly: Ducks Can Defend Title

7/29 Appearing on ESPN Radio, Kelly says UO will have one QB
JULY 29, 2010 -- Oregon football fall camp is less than two weeks away and during the east coast swing of Pac-10 media day, head coach Chip Kelly appeared on ESPN Radio’s 'Scott Van Pelt Show'. Top of mind is the Oregon quarterback situation – will it be either Nate Costa or Darren Thomas?

The reason for the Ducks need a new quarterback in the first place is Jeremiah Masoli, who was suspended and then dismissed from the team. Several reports have Masoli joining Ole Miss within the next week. Kelly was asked if he’d recommend Masoli to another team

Oregon is the defending conference champion, and despite having no incumbent quarterback, Kelly says his team has enough returning pieces to get another title.

Our sister station, 95.3 the Score has all day media day coverage planned for the start of Duck fall camp on August 9. Many more opportunities to hear from the Oregon coach and his players in the coming weeks.
